Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and has been an official royal residence for more than 900 years. Located just outside London in the historic town of Windsor, the castle remains one of the United Kingdom’s most visited attractions.

Originally founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, Windsor Castle has served as a royal home for generations of British monarchs and continues to be used by the Royal Family today.

A visit to Windsor Castle offers the opportunity to explore the magnificent State Apartments, historic royal grounds, and some of the most important ceremonial rooms in Britain. Visitors can also experience the rich history of the monarchy through exhibitions, artwork, and royal collections displayed throughout the castle.

St George’s Chapel, located within the castle grounds, is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England and is the final resting place of several British monarchs, including Queen Elizabeth II. Please note that the chapel is closed to visitors every Sunday, although admission to Windsor Castle itself remains open.

Last admission entry is 3:30 PM
